Hangover Hill Presents 2024 Events

We run a series of events in different venues giving artists a chance to perform full sets of their original material to a paying audience. We include all genres and anything from solos and duos to full bands. Below is a list of our upcoming events.

Live And Unheard September

Chimphouse
Bournemouth based 4-piece indie punk band who don’t take themselves too seriously and their music first and foremost is about having fun. Their song writing features plenty of local observations, which include songs about a Supermarket in a Church, a local nightclub and a seagull stealing food. At their first attempt the band won a local battle of the bands winning the judges over with their charm, enthusiasm and songwriting. The Band’s two releases debut EP “Gorilla Warfare” and follow Up “Ape Sounds” show the bands unique music craft and great sense of humour.
Chig
From the south coast of England, alternative 5-piece CHIG offer a unique expression of melancholic rock music unafraid to go heavy, blending elements of nu-metal, post-punk and shoegaze. With the ‘grunge-gaze’ style their twin guitar attack shows plenty of creative melodic riffs coupled with strong rhythm patterns and powerful vocals that need to be heard live to be believed. The band are pro-active with experimentation and bring plenty of influences on to the stage without sounding like anyone particularly
The Rambling Club
Formed on the south coast of England, The Rambling Club released their debut EP, Ready To Begin in late 2022 after several years of slowly establishing themselves. The release fused anthemic indie rock with washed out shoegaze to great success and greatly developed the band’s sound. The band went back to the studio in 2023, recording once again with Neil Kennedy (Creeper, Boston Manor, Milk Teeth), this time as a five piece looking to build on the sound developed on the previous EP. The band have just released their second EP called “That’s Life“ in April 2024.

Tuto Tribe is ‘the samba rock party band’, a 5-piece based in Southampton, UK. Brazilian extrovert, Tuto, and his multi-national tribe of musicians perform joyful, fun-fueled and interactive shows with their modern, bright Brazilian sound with catchy, sing-along hooks and rhythms influenced by samba, rock, Jamaican music and jazz. Tuto Tribe describe their music as the virtual offspring of Jorge Ben, The Doors and Manu Chao, with songs written about love, life, travel and world citizenship. Formed in early 2022, they have played at Victorious and Tropical Pressure and in 2024, festival performances include the Isle of Wight, Camp Bestival Dorset, Wilderness, Camp Bestival Shropshire and Victorious. As one fan described Tuto Tribe’s live performance: ‘It is like you are on a holiday that you never planned going on’. Let’s Samba Rock it!
Electronique A Weymouth based musical cooperative, formed in 2022, with a focus on 1980s themed electronic music. Anyone who has recorded can play live, if they are available, recreating a range of pop, political and dance songs. Playing with ELECTRONIQUE on this show are Paul Avis, Barbara Gasior (violin) and Julia Krzyzanowska (vocals / keyboards). We all believe that music matters, words matter.
Sleepy Jake Combining percussive guitar with soulful songwriting, Jacob Stansbury tells tales of Sleepy Jakes dreams, through a mystical musical adventure. Having begun writing songs in his hometown of Bournemouth during the pandemic, Jacob sites nature and those around him as his primary source of musical inspiration. In search of musical growth, Jacob set off on an adventure through Latin America in early 2021, where he has learned much more than just musicianship. Recently returning with a funk-fuelled album debut under his belt and a Latin flair in his step, Sleepy Jake guarantees to entertain.

Revenant
Formed in 2023 Revenant bring a huge rock sound with a southern spin. Their debut E.P ‘What A Time To Be Alive’ received critical acclaim in 2024 and they are making huge waves on the live circuit. Labelled as ‘ones not to be missed’ with ‘One of the best guitar releases of 2024’ Revenant might just become your favourite new band.

Carley Varley
Carley Varley (named after the lead vocalist) is an Alternative Rock band based in the South Coast UK. Formed in 2023 the band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Carley Varley, guitarist Alex Tompkins, bassist Jordan Shepherd and drummer Fred Sedgeley. Carley’s original songs are packed with emotion and she can entrance any audience with her storytelling. Their Homesick EP garnered much radio support and we can’t wait to see what they do next.
Who’s Amy?
Who’s Amy? is a Horror-Punk band from Bournemouth, blending horror themes with upbeat
guitar riffs and catchy melodies. Influenced by New Wave, Pop Punk, Indie, Metal, and even
Musical Theatre, their eclectic sound keeps listeners guessing and craving more.
Their debut EP Graveyard Shift was released in March 2023. Following a brief hiatus, Who’s
Amy? is back in the studio, crafting a new EP that promises to enchant and surprise their
fans once more.
